A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry provides a variety of options for you upon graduation. The vast majority of our majors (75%) graduate with a biochemistry concentration. Approximately 40% of our majors seek health-related professional programs, 40% seek graduate school in chemistry or biochemistry, and 20% join the workforce. We have a significant number of sample study plans, or four-year schedules, based on a variety of career interests. Keep in mind that these study plans are samples as core courses can be easily switched. Your academic advisor will assist you with your schedule so you are able to stay on track while tailoring your schedule around you.

We have several program partnerships that allow our students to complete their undergraduate degree from JCU and advanced degree at another institution in an accelerated time frame. For instance, JCU has partnered with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) for medical, dental, and pharmacy school (click here for information). The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) and JCU have a partnership for those interested in medical school (this partnership is for incoming students, or current high school seniors; click here for information).
