Psychology: Child and Family Studies

Psychology majors with the child and family studies concentration examine development from infancy through late adulthood, focusing on the individual and individuals in a family context. This program supports students who wish to work in applied settings with children and families after graduation, as well as those who wish to continue to graduate study.

The checklist details course requirements for the CFS concentration as well as the semesters each course is offered. Students should follow the checklist according to the time they entered JCU. The degree plan will ensure students meet all Psychology major, CFS concentration and University core requirements are met for graduation. Minimum of 42 credit hours for Psychology and 120 total credit hours for graduation.

CFS students complete internships at a wide variety of sites, gaining valuable experience and references.

CFS Psychology majors should consider a statistics or data science minor.
