MA Program

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Theology & Religious Studies graduate program is designed to provide master’s students with advanced knowledge of the content and method of various disciplines of theology and religious studies (scripture, Christian history, ethics, world religions, systematic theology, and sociology of religion). The TRS M.A. program is a rigorous academic degree which can be designed both for those who plan to pursue Ph.D. level work in Theology or Religious Studies and as well as teachers or other professionals. Both full and part time options are available. TRS M.A. students are also eligible to apply for GA positions both in the TRS department and in other departments at JCU.

Why consider a TRS Certificate?

A certificate program is ideal either for students who are looking to begin graduate-level study or for students who already have an advanced degree and wish to pursue additional coursework in one or more particular sub-fields of TRS. Such students may need an additional credential for career advancement, or they may simply enjoy the stimulating conversation with others who work in related professional contexts. Whichever is the case for you, TRS faculty are happy to help design a program of studies that fits your needs and interests.
