The Registrar’s Office is the official source for all student academic records. Transcripts are issued only at the request of the student.
Important Notes:
- To protect the confidentiality of student and alumni records, no telephone or email requests for transcripts will be honored.
- All financial obligations to the University must be met before transcripts will be issued*.
*Students have a right to access a transcript for purposes of seeking employment regardless of whether that student owes an institutional debt, provided the student has authorized the transcripts to be sent to the employer and the employer affirms to the institution that the transcripts are a prerequisite of employment.
Additional instructions for the employer affirmation process will be provided after the transcript order to be sent to the employer is placed.
- Veterans or active duty military members may request a paper copy of their official transcript at no charge by completing the manual transcript request form (option 2) and returning it along with a copy of one of the following:
- DD Form 214, 215, 256, NGB Form 22
- Military ID Card
- VA Issued ID Card for Health Care
- Veterans ID Card
- Veterans Designation on Driver's License or State Veterans ID Card
Option 1: Order Transcripts Online
John Carroll University is now partnering with Parchment to provide secure online transcript ordering. This service allows you to order transcripts 24/7 from your home, residence hall or office using any major credit card. Parchment handles the electronic payment transactions and automated notification services.

Official electronic transcripts ordered online are $15.00 per copy. Official transcripts to be printed & mailed are $17.50. Parchment charges an additional order processing fee.
You have the option of ordering both electronic PDF transcripts and paper transcripts online. Please note, secure PDF transcripts for students who began at John Carroll before 1985 may take some additional processing time.
Option 2: Manual Transcript Request
If you do not have a credit card, you can use the transcript request form to submit your request. This form can also be used to request an unofficial transcript. A signed request from the student or alumni is required in order to release both an official and unofficial transcript.
- Complete the Transcript Request Form in person in the Registrar’s Office (B102). Please note there is no confirmation or tracking service available with this option and the $20.00 transcript fee must be paid (with cash or check) before the transcript will be issued. Checks can be made payable to John Carroll University.
OR
- Download the Transcript Request Form and mail the completed form to the Registrar’s Office (see return mailing information on the form). Please note, there is no confirmation or tracking service available with this option and the $20.00 transcript fee must be paid before the transcript will be issued. Acceptable forms of payment are cash or check. Checks can be made payable to John Carroll University.
